Sanny Veloo, ex-Empra, Final Eclipse, The SUNS, Boredphucks, has released his first solo single, The Human Race Ain’t Worth Saving.
It’s the first of three singles he’s planning to release this year, and comes complete with a hilarious video clip shot on an iPhone XR.
The Human Race Ain’t Worth Saving is about the self-destructive nature of human beings and it reminds us to be more kind to one another. Veloo combines Beach Boys-esque falsetto vocals with Dave Grohl grit, kick arse rock riffs, sing-a-long chorus and a fret melting guitar solo.
Singapore-born Veloo self-produced the track and it was recorded over Zoom with session musicians from Los Angeles because of Melbourne’s lockdown restrictions.
Veloo is a rock n’ roll veteran, having toured extensively, collaborated with Gotye and supported British India & Calling All Cars with his band Empra, relocated from Singapore to Australia after his band Boredphucks were banned from live performances by the Singaporean government, and even has a metal elbow joint after a bizarre onstage rock n’ roll accident.

Wow what a huge honour to be a part of Lion City Rock Podcast’s National Day 2023 episode! Here’s my first ever long form podcast interview where I talk about my exciting rock music journey.

Pleasant additions for a Saturday afternoon (Single Reviews)
That being said, there’s something ironically charming about Sanny Veloo’s fatalistic tongue-in-cheek brand of rock. The Aussie musician is here to offer lighthearted commentary, fun falsetto, and big riffs.
